Mr. Lakshman Fernando, who is the present Sacristan, does a dedicated service and is an asset to the Church. Prior to him, Mr. Augustine performed the duties of the Sacristan satisfactorily and he painted the steel trusses supporting the roof singlehandedly. The first Sacristan was Mr. Basil Fonseka.

At present Sunday Mass is celebrated at 5.30 pm.  The Novena of St. Joseph Vaz followed by Holy Mass is celebrated every Friday at 7 pm.  The feast of St. Joseph Vaz is celebrated usually on the last Sunday of January each year, although the actual feast is on 16th January.

The Parishioners proudly celebrated the 25th year Jubilee of the old Church during the period when Rev. Fr. Chrisanthus Fernando was the Parish Priest. The Chief Celebrant, of the Holy Mass on 12th February 2012, was His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith. The Church Community, at present (2020), comprises of more than 160 families.
