The Holy Mass

The Holy Eucharistic celebration is the central most act of worship that takes place in the Parish. All other pious practices take the second place compared to the Holy Eucharistic Celebration. People are encouraged to give priority to the Holy Eucharistic celebration as the source and summit of the Christian life. During the weekdays six ferial Masses are celebrated in the Parish viz. five at St. Mary’s Katukurunda and one at St. Joseph Vaz, Modera.

The celebration of the ferial Masses is as follows:

During the weekends four Sunday Masses are celebrated in the Parish of Katukurunda, viz. three at St. Mary’s Church Katukurunda and one at St. Joseph Vaz Church Modera. On Sunday Morning two Sunday Masses are celebrated one for the Sinhala Medium Students of the Daham Pasala and the second for the English Medium students of the Daham Pasala.
