Every Catholic child must attend Daham Pasala, as it is the law of the country which defines the parental obligations and the rights of the child to have access to value-oriented education. Only those children of a Catholic Family formally enrolled and registered in a Roman Catholic Parish of the archdiocese of Colombo within the geographical precincts of the Moratuwa Deanery are granted admission to the Daham Pasala of the Katukurunda Parish. For all admissions, the parents of the Child or the guardians must meet the Parish Priest personally and submit all their certificates of Catholic identification and consent to allow their child to undergo religious training. It must be noted that the Daham Pasala is not a tuition class for the school academic discipline of Roman Catholicism. It is not a prep class to pass school examinations, where the child gets extra material to pass the test on religion in school. Daham Pasala is a place where the Child undergoes an integral training in faith and morals of Catholic Culture. It involves the long-term goal of training the future Catholic layperson who is an exemplary witnessing leader as a disciple of Jesus Christ socially active in the parish community in serving the Kingdom of God in the local Church.
