Every First Friday of the month the Blessed Sacrament is exposed for public adoration in both the Churches, for a few hours which will be followed by Solemn Benediction and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. At Katukurunda community the First Friday Sacred Heart Devotion is observed by the members of the confraternity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, and they take the initiative in the organization of the Holy Eucharist after Benediction. At Modera St. Joseph Vaz Church because of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament followed by Benediction the regular novena to St. Joseph Vaz is not held on first Fridays, instead the Holy Eucharist follows soon after Benediction.
